Witchy Wednesdays - Chamomile

Witchy Wednesdays- Chamomile

Chamomile is a member of the daisy family. It comes from the Greek word for ‘Ground Apple,’ due to its apple like fragrance. It is also an anticoagulant plant if ingested. In Ancient Egypt is was used to cure fevers and was dedicated to the sun god Ra. It is one of the 9 Anglo Saxon sacred herbs and during this period of British history it was used to make beer before hops were introduced. It is used in many meditation and sleep incenses as its fragrance is very relaxing. Carrying it in your pocket is said to bring good luck, and washing your hands in the chamomile tea will further give you success at gambling situations. Finally sprinkling ground chamomile around yourself or the home will prevent fires and lightning strikes.
