Witchy Wednesdays - Vervain

Witchy Wednesdays - Vervain Vervain is a woody perennial with oval toothed leaves and small flowers of either Blue, Purple or Pink. The word vervain comes from a Celtic term ferfaen meaning "drive away stones" as it was believed to be a cure for kidney stones.Vervain combined with any other herbs in magical work is believed by some to enhance the action of these herbs. It can also be used in Norse Magick as an offering to the God Thor. The tea made from vervain is very bitter but is a good at being both a diuretic and a cure for mild cases of insomnia. Finally the flowers can be used in cooking by leaving in salt a few days to then flavour the salt for use remembering to then discard the flowers of course.
